Field Day Music Festival 2016
The first round-up of acts has been announced for Field Day’s 10th anniversary on the 11th and 12th June 2016 at Victoria Park, London. The music festival has developed an impressive track record of acts from preceding years, including Mystery Jets, Santigold, SBTRKT Caribou, Grimes, King Krule and The Horrors to name a few.
Topping the bill so far on Saturday are Ata Kak, Avalon Emerson, Cass McCombs, Dean Blunt, Deerhunter, DJ Koze, Dusky, Floating Points – who’s multi-tasking track record spans from jazz to electronic, Field Day veteran Four Tet – an eclectic one-man piece that tests the boundaries in beats inspired by his roots, Holly Herndon – Live, Kink – Live, Meilyr Jones, Motor City Drum Ensemble, rhythmic genius Mount Kimbie – DJ set, Mura Masa, Orchestra Baobob, Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band, Red Axes – Live, Roman Flügel, grime aficionado Skepta, Soak, Special Request, Wild Nothing, Yorkston/Thorn/Khan & Youth Lagoon (they recently put out a live session of their bold and poised new work which you can listen to here.)
On Sunday, we’re so far expecting PJ Harvey, indie dream-pop trio Beach House, Ben Watt Band feat. Bernard Butler, Declan McKenna, Goat, John Grant, Junior Boys, Molly Nilsson, Optimo and The Thurston Moore Band. With a line-up already this brilliant and other acts gradually being unravelled over the course of the next few weeks, make a field day out of it and check out The Hippo Collective’s Field Day warm-up here.
