Top 3 Designers to Watch, 2015
2014 has had its fashion moments; it is the year that saw practically every inch of Rihanna in her CFDA awards dress and then yet more nudity from the omnipresent Kim Kardashian in that shoot for Paper Magazine. In more charitable work, the industry’s most famous bob took a soaking when Anna Wintour took part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
Momentous as these events were it is now time to focus on who will cause a stir next year with our Top 3 Designers to watch for 2015.
Veronica B Vallenes
Norwegian designer, Veronica B Vallenes offers a chance to get a bit of that Scandinavian cool without paying prices that will obliterate your overdraft limit. Based in Copenhagen, the fast emerging style capital of the North, the brand offers simple yet chic pieces which are both stylish and extremely wearable. The brand also offers a line made from environmentally friendly fabrics for the eco-conscious among you. With Scandinavian style becoming ever more popular brands like this one are likely to see an increased following in 2015.

New York based designer, Sandy Liang is going to be hot in 2015, Vogue says so, so its true. Her collections are comprised of statement pieces in luxury fabrics, which sadly also means a luxury price tag. However if her cropped, pink, shearling Mingo top isn’t worth living on baked beans for the best part of 2015 for, I don’t know what is.
Hannah Weiland’s faux fur label, Shrimps has had a massive 2014. The AW video campaign featured Adwoa Woodge and Laura Bailey and she counts some of the biggest names in the business as fans, including one of the best endorsements a brand could possibly receive, Alexa Chung. Her first two collections have included fashion forward takes on the winter wardrobe staple, the (faux) fur coat and a number of fun accessories in the form of scarves, collars, bags and a pyjama collaboration with Poplin. This British designer is only destined for even greater success in 2015 and I for one cannot wait to see what the AW16 collection has to offer. In the meantime, grab a (relative) bargain in the sale and enter 2015 nice and cosy.
