The Spanish always seem to look so effortless and cool, and while Zara and Mango are now thought to be some of the best high street destinations, there are Spanish brands that deserve recognition. Here I have selected a few finds that I have come across on travels to Spain:
Madrid born label that creates handmade suede and lambskin leather pieces. Rockinhorses almost has an aesthetic that is unique to their label, with a very specific colour palette. Their bikinis are some of the most delicate and beautiful I have ever come across.
ese0ese have got the shades of their jumpers just right, and the suede boots are comfy enough to make them a go for everyday dressing.
Started by two Spanish sisters; Sensoers is a simple range of handcrafted gold and silver jewellery. The sisters’ background in architecture is evident in their simple geometric designs. Their pieces make a perfect gift for a women who is hard to shop for.
4. Mint & Rose
Flicking through their Instagram page will be enough to persuade you to buy a pair of Mint & Rose espadrilles. Worn on sun kissed feet, standing on a variety of tiled floors or white sand, the espadrilles are featured as a companion for all good times to come.
5. Mr. Boho
Mr. Boho is a great place to look for timeless, simple wallets and stylish watches for men. But there is also a large selection of quirky and classic sunglasses – for both men and women – that are affordable.
As part of the Intidex group (who also own Zara, Massimo Dutti and Berska amongst others) Oysho is not as unknown as some of the other labels here. However, I thought it was worth mentioning seeing as few people in the UK have heard of it and it is definitely a gem worth knowing about. A great place for particularly underwear, sleepwear and gym wear, having said that they also do great summer dresses, and I am guilty of wearing their pyjama sets as day wear as they are so cool and comfy at once.
This Barcelona based jewellery label boasts bold shapes in equally bold colours. Fun selection of necklaces and earrings at affordable prices. My personal favourites are featured bellow with the delicate chain rings for only €10 each.
8. Mr. Ce
A selection of charming, woven bags and clutches from worldly travels. Strong influences from the late Ottoman empire and India, these will give a edge to any simple outfit, and the perfect summertime accessory.
One look at the minimalistic and stylish swimwear label Robin collection, and summer cannot come any faster. At a time where mass production is common place it is nice to see quality is not sacrificed for quantity, there is only a relatively small collection of items but each is something special.
10. The Rice Co.
Another espadrille label, but it truly is a shoe that the Spanish do the best – the classics worn by both Picasso and Dali – and while some are not so appropriate for the more mild climate of the UK, The Rice Co. shoes have a solid sole that can endure (and brighten up) the colder days.
