Guide for a Complete Christmas Night – #10
Merry Christmas everyone, Christmas has finally arrived and it is the most wonderful time of the year.
Here at the Hippo Collective we decided to share with you the guide that will help you have the perfect Christmas night!
FAMILY and FOOD are the main ingredients you must have during Christmas, but my grandmother used to say: all we ever need is love and laughter, the rest we run after!
“The Best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!”
Having family members from various countries makes our Christmas always full of life and different, so here is my guide for a perfect Christmas night:
Firstly you need to tell everyone where Christmas is going to be, send out invitations, call family and friends and make sure you also get presents for the four legged friends.
I find it very helpful to know exactly what I need to buy when I go shopping as this time of the year shopping malls become somewhat hectic!
Make home decorations, you can find the most funny and amazing ideas over Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest. There are incredible things you can make instead of spending money on Christmas decorations, craft look for idea and use toilet paper make a snowmen.
You must insure you have blankets and a warm and welcoming house.
Hot chocolate and marshmallows are a MUST!
Bake, bake and bake!
Bake muffins, brownies, puddings and of course Buche de Noel. I would advice you to wake up early on the 24th and spend the whole day just before dinner baking and making the most cultural dishes that remind you of Christmas at your Grandmother’s.
Create a special playlist for Christmas with your favourite music, include old time songs that make the old folks sing along, create a warming Christmas atmosphere for everyone, anyone can join in and sing along.
Ask family and friends to bring board games, cards and PlayStation games – make people move around, talk, sing, play games and laugh.
Santa outfit to entertain the elderly and the young crowd
Do NOT clean up too quickly and meet me under the mistletoe where the Christmas glow keeps us inside in this night from the heavy snow.
